Open pan: Water to rice. Boil the water, add the rice, cook uncovered on medium heat until done, then drain the extra water.
Closed pan: Bring water and rice to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, then rest off the heat for 10 minutes.
Microwave: Soaked rice and water in a covered bowl for 15 minutes, then rest 10 minutes. For a 650 W oven, up to 300 g at a time.
Electric cooker: Add soaked rice and water and switch on. Let it steam on keep-warm for a few minutes before serving.
